List of Documents for Eiffel France Scholarship Application: Your Checklist

The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 call is open for eligible international applicants seeking master’s, engineering and doctoral study in France. To request consideration, you need a document dossier that a French institution can assess and nominate.

Think of your dossier as a case for investing in your future: your transcripts show what you have achieved, your CV explains your experience, and your career plan shows where you are going. Each document should help the university understand why this particular programme fits you.

Here is the important twist: you do not submit your own Eiffel nomination directly to Campus France. Your French institution submits it. Start with the Eiffel 2027 eligibility and nomination guide, then use the checklist below alongside your chosen university’s instructions.

Build the Dossier Your University Can Support
Core evidence: Identity, academic records, CV, career plan and applicable language proof.
PhD applicants: Additional research, expert-assessment and funding documents.
Final checklist: Your university controls its submission requirements and internal deadline.
Official information checked: 11 October 2026.

01Which Documents Should You Prepare First for Eiffel Scholarship Application?

Prepare these seven categories, then check exactly what your institution requests. They form the practical starting point for master’s applicants and much of the doctoral dossier. Tick each item as you prepare it; ticks are temporary and are not saved.

Does your university issue no rankings? Ask the French host what alternative it accepts. Never turn your own estimate into an “official” certificate.

02Applying for a PhD? Add the Research Package

Doctoral applicants need evidence that the research is credible, supervised and financially planned. Coordinate these documents with your proposed supervisor at University sponsoring your next Eiffel scholarship admission:

  • Thesis project: Up to five pages in current calls, covering the question, objectives, hypotheses, originality, impact and research progress where relevant.
  • Scientific expert assessment: A reasoned evaluation by an appropriately qualified expert, plus the expert’s CV. Ask your host to check the independence and conflict-of-interest rules before commissioning it.
  • Overall thesis funding plan: Show how the doctorate will be financed, including periods outside Eiffel support.
  • International supervision agreement: For the 12- or 18-month routes, provide the required cotutelle or codirection documentation and mobility schedule. The 36-month route has different rules.
  • Host approvals: Supervisor, laboratory or doctoral-school statements, and current enrolment evidence where requested.

03Must Everything Be in French?

Accepted languages depend on the document and the institution. Nantes accepts French or English for several documents and requires official translations of documents written in other languages. Paris-Panthéon-Assas requires its master’s CV and career plan in French.

Likewise, do not assume IELTS is compulsory or automatically waived. Follow your course’s language requirements. An English-medium degree replaces a test only if the host accepts it.

Extra documents can be compulsory locally. Assas requests a candidate commitment declaration and, for applicants with foreign qualifications outside the ECTS system, an ENIC-NARIC recognition certificate. Recommendation letters and admission evidence should follow the host’s checklist; there is no universal “two recommendation letters” rule to apply everywhere.

04How Do You Turn the Checklist into a Submitted Application?

Follow the institution’s route, complete admission requirements and let it handle the national nomination.

  1. Choose your host using our France universities offering Eiffel consideration, with deadlines.
  2. Read the current Campus France Eiffel guidance and your host’s checklist. For examples, compare Paris-Saclay’s document requirements.
  3. Request registrar documents and translations early. Check names, dates, signatures, page limits and scan readability. Use the required templates and file format.
  4. Submit through the specified portal or contact. Save confirmation and complete any separate admission application. University support does not guarantee the scholarship.

05Which Deadline Controls Your Documents?

Your university’s internal deadline controls when you must provide your dossier. The last date for French institutions to submit France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship 2027 nominations to Campus France is 6 January 2027; this is not a common student deadline. Check separate admission and document deadlines with your host.

Your best next move? Request the slowest documents today, then draft your career plan around the exact programme you want.
