The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is once again stepping up to level the playing field in postgraduate education. With a clear mission to break down barriers and foster diversity, LSHTM is proud to offer 10 Next Generation Scholarships for the 2025–26 academic year.
This life-changing opportunity is open to home-status students who aspire to pursue a one-year, full-time, London-based MSc program at one of the world’s top institutions for global and public health.
Program Offerings & Benefits
A total of 10 scholarships are available for the 2025–26 intake and each LSHTM Next Generation Scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fees at the Home rate (including mandatory field trip costs).
- A tax-free living allowance (stipend) based on the UKRI studentship rate, currently £21,237 for 2024–25.
- Additional support to ensure applicants have time to secure their place, including an extension on the deposit deadline for shortlisted candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Hold Home fee status in the UK.
- Meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements.
- Have an offer of admission to one of LSHTM’s 16 intensive one-year, full-time London-based MSc programs (excluding joint MScs like Global Mental Health, One Health, and Veterinary Epidemiology).
- Not already hold a master’s degree, an integrated master’s, or a higher qualification such as a PhD.
The selection committee will give preference to applicants who identify with one or more of the following backgrounds:
- Care-experienced
- Caregiver
- Refugee
- Estranged from family
- Disabled.
Application Process and Timeline

- Deadline to Hold Offer of Admission: 11 April 2025.
- After this date, eligible offer holders will receive an invitation to complete a supplementary scholarship form, focusing on the educational barriers they’ve overcome.
- Scholarship decisions will be communicated by: 23 May 2025.
