Masters in Global Nursing Leadership Scholarship 2027 at University of Global Health Equity

The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) has officially opened applications for its Masters in Global Nursing Leadership (MGNL) Program – Class of 2027. This transformative two-year graduate program is designed to empower nurses from around the world to become future health leaders driving equity and innovation in healthcare delivery.

Program Overview

The MGNL is a two (2) years graduate program delivered by UGHE’s Center for Nursing and Midwifery. It is designed to equip experienced registered nurses with the knowledge and leadership skills needed to tackle global health challenges and reduce inequities in health systems. The program combines 80% online instruction with in-person learning on UGHE’s Butaro campus in Rwanda, making it accessible to international applicants.

Scholarship Financial Package

Selected candidates will receive a 100% tuition-only scholarship and in addition, UGHE covers:

  • On-campus housing and meals
  • Academic-related expenses (e.g., field trips)
  • Transport to/from UGHE’s Butaro campus for in-person sessions
  • International travel and visa costs
  • Accommodation and meals outside UGHE campus
  • Personal items, toiletries, and internet access.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet both UGHE graduate admissions requirements and the specific criteria for MGNL:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • 5–7 years of experience as a registered nurse
  • Currently employed and possess a non-restricted RN license
  • A support letter from current employer
  • Two professional references
  • A detailed curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A statement of purpose highlighting interest in nursing leadership
  • Notarized copies of academic credentials
  • English language proficiency
  • Successful completion of entrance exam and interview
  • International students must apply for an HEC equivalency certificate in Rwanda.

The last date to apply for the Masters in Global Nursing Leadership (MGNL) Program – Class of 2027 is 22 April 2025 at 5:00 PM CAT. Final admissions decisions will be announced in early July 2025.
