Scholarship Overview

The Department of Computer Science Undergraduate Research Scholarship is a prestigious program aimed at supporting the innovative endeavors of its undergraduate students. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Number of Awards: Each semester, three to four scholarships worth $2,000 each are awarded.
  • Proposal Limit: You can submit up to two proposals per year and can receive only one award per semester.
  • Usage: The scholarship can be utilized for stipend, tuition, and/or equipment over one or two semesters.

Application Process

To apply, ensure you meet the following requirements and prepare the necessary documents:

  1. Eligibility: You must be an active undergraduate student in the Department of Computer Science.
  2. Proposal: Your proposal, which can be co-written with your supervisor, should include an introduction, a description of the proposed work, and an evaluation plan. The entire proposal must not exceed three pages.
  3. Supporting Documents:
    • Resume
    • Transcript
    • Supervisor’s supporting letter and budget
  4. Submission: Complete the student research scholarship application and submit a faculty recommendation.

Evaluation Criteria: A committee of four faculty members from the Department of Computer Science will review your proposal based on:

  • Broad Impact: How your research might benefit the wider community or field.

Decisions are communicated within two weeks of the proposal deadline.
