Mississippi State University Out-of-State Resident Scholarships 2026-2027
Mississippi State University (MSU) is offering automatically awarded Out-of-State Resident Scholarships for incoming freshmen based on 9th–11th grade GPA and test scores. Superscoring is accepted, and MSU will consider ACT/SAT scores taken up through the February test date of a student’s senior year.
These scholarships can be worth thousands of dollars and are renewable annually for up to 8 semesters (fall and spring) based on maintaining a strong overall GPA at MSU. In addition, students may also qualify for the Non-Resident Military Tuition Waiver (NRMTW), which provides a scholarship waiver covering the non-resident portion of tuition (currently valued at $18,132) if this waiver is greater than the Non-Resident Scholarship amount.
Beyond these automatic awards, MSU also offers a wide range of additional scholarships — including academic, performance-based, leadership & service, departmental, private, and highly competitive awards. Many of these can be stacked with the freshman academic scholarships for even greater financial support.

- Selection is based on high school GPA (9th–11th grade) and standardized ACT/SAT test scores.
