What You Can Get?
As a recipient of the Monash Graduate Scholarship (MGS), you will receive a generous annual living stipend of AUD $36,063 (2025 rate) to help cover your day-to-day expenses while pursuing your research. If you’re moving to Monash from another location, a relocation allowance may also be provided to assist with the costs of settling in.
International students may be eligible for a separate tuition fee scholarship, which can be bundled with the MGS to fully support both tuition and living costs. Who Can Apply?
You must be one of the following:
- International student
- Australian national students
- Australian permanent residents
- New Zealand citizen students
- Australian humanitarian visa holders.
And meet the following:
- Monash’s competitive scholarship selection requirements
- Monash English language proficiency standards.
This scholarship is also available for Joint Research Awards where Monash is the home institution.

Application Deadlines
For those applying from outside Australia, international applicants must submit their applications by 31 August 2025 as part of Round 3. Meanwhile, domestic applicants, including Australian citizens, permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens, have until 31 October 2025 to apply under Round 4.
