MYCOS Scholarships 2025 for PhD Admissions

The Medical University Innsbruck (MUI) and the University of Innsbruck (UIBK) have announced an outstanding opportunity for aspiring PhD candidates through the MYCOS research program. This initiative is designed to foster cutting-edge research in antimycotic resistance, focusing on the “One Health Approach.” Funding has been secured to support 11 PhD candidates over a three-year period, and the call for applications is now open!

Program Focus

MYCOS unites experts from various disciplines at the Innsbruck campus to tackle challenges in infection, immunity, transplantation, and biointeractions. The program’s research will cover critical areas such as the impact of azole exposure, development of fungal resistomes, and novel drug discovery platforms.

Available PhD Projects

Candidates may choose from a variety of engaging projects, including:

The impact of azole fungicides on the environment and health.
Investigating azole resistance in fungi from different habitats.
Exploring innovative treatments for azole-resistant pathogens.

Each project aims to provide significant contributions to both science and clinical practice, preparing candidates for a career in medical and natural sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Master’s degree in natural sciences, medical sciences, or a related field.
Proficiency in English at the C1 level (Cambridge, TOEFL-IBT, IELTS) or native speaker status.

Initial Phase

Check your status: On June 3, 2024, applicants can check their status online. Successful candidates will move to the next stage and submit additional documents.
