NINE Northern Ireland and North East of England Scholarship 2025: Stipend £19,237

The NINE Northern Ireland and North East of England Doctoral Training Partnership (NINE DTP) is a collaborative program that brings together seven universities in Northern Ireland and North East England to deliver doctoral training in the social sciences.

Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and supported by the Department for the Economy Northern Ireland (DfENI), this program offers an exceptional environment for conducting research, building skills, and contributing to real-world impact.

Each year, over 50 scholarships are awarded to outstanding social science researchers. Programs funded by the NINE DTP include:

  • 3-Year PhD Programs
  • 3-and-a-Half-Year PhD with Research Methods
