NLSIU Research Fellowships 2025 Open for New Applicants

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, has announced multiple prestigious fellowship opportunities for the academic year 2025–26. The University is inviting applications for its Graduate Research Fellowship (10 positions), NLSIU Postdoctoral Fellowship (5 positions), and University Research Fellowship (5 positions).

These fellowships are designed to nurture outstanding researchers in law, social sciences, public policy, and related disciplines while contributing to NLSIU’s pioneering Grand Challenges Model of Research.


Funding Package

Selected fellows will receive competitive monthly remuneration according to their academic stage:

  1. Graduate Research Fellowship: 55,000 – 65,000 per month
  2. Postdoctoral Research Fellowship: 1,00,000 – 1,50,000 per month
  3. University Research Fellowship: 1,70,000 – 2,00,000 per month

In addition to financial support, fellows will have access to NLSIU’s rich academic environment, extensive library, digital resources, and opportunities for publishing across NLSIU’s journals, blogs, and platforms.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduate Research Fellowship: Open to recent graduates and early researchers in law, social sciences, public policy, and related disciplines.
  • Postdoctoral Research Fellowship: Open to scholars with a Ph.D. who have demonstrated research potential and academic excellence.
  • University Research Fellowship: Open to senior researchers with significant academic or professional experience and proven records of excellence.

Fellows are generally expected to be present on campus, though case-by-case flexibility may be considered.

Timeline

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with three (03) review rounds and the first round deadline is 5 PM (IST) on September 15, 2025.
