What is the UK Standard Visitor Visa?
The Standard Visitor Visa allows eligible foreign nationals to visit the UK for up to 6 months for a variety of short-term purposes. Whether you’re coming for a vacation, attending a business meeting, sitting for an exam, or receiving medical treatment, this visa covers a wide range of permitted activities—making travel simpler and more structured.
Who Can Apply?
This visa is designed for individuals who want to visit the UK for:
- Tourism or vacation
- Visiting family or friends
- Volunteering (up to 30 days) with a registered UK charity
- Transiting through the UK
- Short-term business activities (e.g., meetings, interviews)
- Paid engagements (e.g., performances, lectures, guest speaking)
- Short recreational courses (e.g., 30-day dance or art course)

What You Cannot Do on a Standard Visitor Visa?
