Overview of the Scholarship
The NUS-IRP scholarship is designed to support PhD students pursuing advanced research at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Students are trained through independent investigation, experimental work, and comprehensive study, culminating in a thesis submission. With the guidance of expert supervisors, PhD students can dive deep into any of the seven departments of the Faculty of Science (FoS) and participate in rigorous academic and research programs.
Key Features of the Scholarship
- World-Class Research Opportunities: Students will collaborate with leading academics on exciting research projects in various fields, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), and Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH).
- Full Tuition Fees Subsidy: Scholarship holders will receive a full tuition subsidy for up to four years.
- Monthly Stipend: The stipend for International Students is: STEM: SGD 2,700/month, with an additional SGD 500/month after passing the qualifying exams, SSH: SGD 2,500/month, with an additional SGD 500/month upon qualifying exam success.
Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and International Students. Applicants must meet the following academic requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least a 2nd Class Upper Honours, or equivalent.
- For non-English undergraduate programs, GRE (minimum 320/340 for Verbal + Quantitative and 3.5/6 for Analytical) and TOEFL (85/120 Internet-based) or IELTS (6.0/9) scores are required.
