Students in the English-speaking OAS countries planning to complete their bachelor’s degrees abroad now have a major funding window open for 2026. The Organization of American States (OAS) has officially launched its Academic Scholarships Program for Undergraduate Studies 2026, offering financial support to help eligible students complete the final two years of their degree in another OAS member country.

This scholarship is designed for students who have already completed at least two years of undergraduate education and are seeking international exposure, specialized academic training, and regional mobility within the Americas. With flexible study options including onsite, online, or hybrid learning, the OAS scholarship gives applicants the chance to finish their degree in a high-quality academic environment while building career prospects back home.

The program supports studies starting anytime between January 1 and December 31, 2026, and prioritizes applicants pursuing fields aligned with development goals of OAS member states. However, programs in medical sciences and language learning are not funded under this scheme. Selected scholars must also commit to returning to their sponsoring country for at least 24 months after completing their degree.

What Financial Support Does the OAS Scholarship Provide?

This scholarship is structured as complementary funding, meaning it supports key academic expenses rather than covering every cost. The maximum award value reaches up to US$10,000 per academic year depending on available funding and individual needs.

Financial benefits may include:

  • Tuition fees and mandatory university charges
  • Health insurance coverage
  • Monthly complementary subsistence allowance
  • Round-trip airfare to the country of study
  • Annual books and study materials allowance

Scholarships are awarded for a minimum of one academic year and up to a maximum of two academic years to support completion of the final phase of an undergraduate degree.

Who Can Apply for the OAS Undergraduate Scholarships 2026?

This scholarship targets academically strong students from specific OAS member states who are ready to complete their bachelor’s degree abroad. Applicants must meet both OAS and university admission requirements.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of an OAS member state in the English-speaking country
  • Have completed at least the first two years of a bachelor’s degree or hold an associate degree
  • Have strong academic performance meeting university GPA requirements
  • Demonstrate language proficiency required by the host university
  • Be in good physical and mental health to complete the program
  • Be willing to study in another OAS member country (not their sponsoring country)
  • Agree to return to their sponsoring country for at least 24 months after completing studies
  • Meet any additional requirements set by the National Liaison Office (ONE) in their country

OAS staff members and related personnel are only eligible after six months from the end of their employment or contract.
