2# Tourist Visa (Unsponsored Visa): Tourists from eligible countries can now apply for unsponsored visas directly online, allowing them to explore Oman for specific periods. Applications can be submitted through the Royal Oman Police (ROP) E-Visa portal:  https://evisa.rop.gov.om/en/home.

3# Visa Facilitation for 103 Countries: In an effort to attract more visitors, Oman has simplified visa procedures for 103 countries, making it more accessible for tourists worldwide. Travelers from these nations can now enjoy faster processing and easier entry.

New Implemented Immigration Policy Changes in Oman in 2025

Till 2025, Oman has implemented significant changes to its work visa and immigration policies, focusing on promoting local employment and regulating the expatriate workforce. Some of those changes include:

  • Work Visa Suspension: Temporary 6-month suspension (from Sept 2024) for specific private-sector jobs like construction workers, tailors, chefs, and barbers.
  • New Labor Law: Reduced work hours (40/week), extended leave entitlements, mandatory contract terms, and remote work recognition.
  • Omanization: Foreign-owned companies must employ at least one Omani national within a year of operation.
  • Health Insurance: Mandatory employer-provided health insurance for all expatriates starting in 2025.
  • Wage Protection: Enhanced system requiring wage transfers within 3 days after the salary period.
