The Faculty of Health Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) has announced a new call for applications for its Research Stays Abroad Scholarships, offering PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers an exciting opportunity to strengthen their international research collaborations in 2026. This funding initiative supports academic mobility, knowledge exchange, and global research networking—helping scholars gain international experience that benefits both their research and OsloMet’s academic mission.
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is open exclusively to:
- PhD candidates who are employed and enrolled in a doctoral program at the Faculty of Health Sciences, OsloMet.
- Postdoctoral researchers currently employed by the faculty.
Applicants must ensure they have no other overlapping sources of funding. Those who have previously received this scholarship or qualify for an international scholarship from the Research Council of Norway are not eligible. Similarly, applicants not employed by OsloMet cannot apply.
Purpose of the OsloMet Scholarship 2026
The scholarship aims to foster international collaboration between OsloMet researchers and global research institutions. During their stay abroad, scholars are expected to engage in meaningful academic activities such as:
- Supervision and mentorship exchanges
- Joint publication and research projects
- Participation in courses, seminars, and workshops relevant to their research
The experience should directly contribute to the applicant’s ongoing research and to strengthening OsloMet’s international academic partnerships.
Duration and Family Support
The research stay can last from one to six months. Scholars accompanied by family members (spouse/partner and/or children) are eligible for additional financial support, provided their stay is at least three months long and the family remains for at least one continuous month.
Importantly, the research stay must be completed at least six (06) months before the end of the PhD or postdoctoral employment period. Stays conducted during a completion grant period will not be funded.
