This entrance scholarship is specially designed to support new Study Abroad students who are enrolling full-time in 2026, recognizing not only academic promise but also a genuine commitment to learning real-world, practical skills.
What’s on Offer?
Students enrolled in eligible bachelor’s programmes in 2026 will be automatically considered—no separate scholarship application is needed! The scholarship amount varies depending on your programme but could save you thousands of dollars in tuition.

Who Is Eligible?
To be considered, you must:
- Be a new international student (not currently enrolled at Otago Polytechnic)
- Begin full-time studies in 2026 (between 45–60 credits per semester)
- Be from a partner institution abroad with a Study Abroad agreement
- Have met all entry requirements for your chosen programme
- Remain a full-time international student throughout the scholarship period
⚠️ If you defer your studies to 2027 or reduce your enrolment to part-time, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
Terms New Applicants Should Know
- The scholarship only applies to the first year of study for multi-year programmes.
- It cannot be taken as cash and is not transferable.
- If you fail and repeat any course, you will need to pay the full tuition for that course.
- If you withdraw, Otago Polytechnic’s refund policy will apply.
