PhD Scholarships 2025 at University of Glasgow
The University of Glasgow’s School of Social and Political Sciences is offering five fully funded PhD scholarships for doctoral research starting in October 2025. This prestigious opportunity includes 3 international scholarships for students from eligible countries and 2 home scholarships for UK widening participation candidates.

Scholarship Award Details
The scholarship will fund 3.5 years of PhD research and includes:
- Annual Stipend: UKRI rate (~£18,622 per year for 2024, subject to change)
- Tuition Fees: Fully covered at the home or international rate
- Research Training Support Grant: Up to £940 per year
- Commencement Bursary: A one-time payment at the start of the PhD.
Eligibility Criteria
1# Academic Qualifications:

- A minimum upper second-class honors (2:1) undergraduate degree (or international equivalent) in social sciences.
- A Master’s degree is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Applicants without a master’s must have a first-class undergraduate degree or distinction.
2# Demographic Eligibility:

- International Scholarships (3): Open to candidates from Least Developed, Low Income, Lower Middle Income, or Upper Middle Income countries as listed by the OECD.
- Home Scholarships (2): Open to UK widening participation candidates.
