Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Postgraduate Access Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Domiciled in the UK: You must be classified as a Home student for fee-status purposes.
  • Studying a 180-credit Postgraduate Taught Degree: Eligible courses include both full-time and part-time Masters programs. Your studies must commence in the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Under-Represented Background: You must fall into one or more of the following categories:
    • Completion of a University of Birmingham or another university’s Widening Participation Scheme.
    • Care Leaver (spent three months or more in local authority care).
    • Disability (in receipt of DSA or other disability allowances).
    • Black and Ethnic Minority Background.
    • Bereaved of or Estranged from Both Parents (under age 25).
    • Caring Responsibilities for a family member or friend.
    • Annual Household Income of £42,875 or less.

To apply for the Postgraduate Access Scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. Apply to Your Masters Program: Submit your application through the Course Finder section on the University of Birmingham website.
