Postgraduate Access Scholarships 2025 at University of Birmingham

If you’ve ever dreamed of pursuing a postgraduate degree but felt financial or social barriers were holding you back, here’s your chance to break through. The University of Birmingham, a historic and inclusive UK institution, is offering 50 Postgraduate Access Scholarships worth £4,000 each to support students from underrepresented backgrounds in pursuing a master’s degree for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Who is Eligible?

To apply for this prestigious award, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • UK-domiciled students only (Home fee-status)
  • Must be starting a 180-credit postgraduate taught degree (full-time or part-time) in the 2025/26 academic year
  • Belong to at least one underrepresented group, including:
    • Past participant of a University of Birmingham (or other) Widening Participation Scheme
    • Care leaver (in care for 3+ months under local authority)
    • Disabled students receiving DSA, DLA, or PIP
    • Black and Ethnic Minority students
    • Estranged or bereaved of both parents and under age 25
    • Individuals with caring responsibilities
    • Students from low-income households (income ≤ £42,875)

Please note: Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection, as awards are made based on merit. Selected candidates may be asked to submit documentation for verification.
