For the MSc programmes in Data Science and Analytics, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, tuition is €15,000 and the published scholarship reaches €3,000, reducing the fee to €12,000. Most other eligible postgraduate programmes carry a €13,500 fee with a €2,500 scholarship.

These amounts should be treated as a 2027 planning benchmark only. MTU has not yet confirmed that the same figures will apply next year.

MTU also makes one thing very clear: it does not currently offer full scholarships through this scheme. The award reduces tuition; it is not paid to the student as cash.

Under the current rules, students must then accept the offer and pay a €1,000 deposit within four weeks to secure both the programme place and the scholarship.

For September 2026 entry, the main scholarship-linked application deadline was May 31, 2026, although Cork also published an earlier March scholarship tier for some applicants.

That pattern suggests future students should not wait until summer 2027. A sensible strategy is to apply as early as possible after the October/November 2026 opening, but no 2027 scholarship deadline should be treated as confirmed until MTU publishes it.

The biggest advantage of this scholarship is simplicity: admission is effectively the scholarship application. The disadvantage is that it is only a partial tuition reduction, so students still need to plan for the remaining tuition balance, accommodation, living expenses, visa requirements and travel.
