The Quad Fellowship, an esteemed initiative by the governments of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States, is now accepting applications for the 2025 cohort. This unique fellowship aims to nurture the next generation of scientists and technologists while fostering ties between the Quad countries and Southeast Asia.
About the Quad Fellowship
Launched on September 24, 2021, the Quad Fellowship is the first scholarship of its kind, operated by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in consultation with a diverse task force of academic, foreign policy, and industry leaders. The program’s mission is to empower outstanding STEM leaders who will drive innovation and social impact globally.
Quad Fellowship Benefits
The Quad Fellowship offers a comprehensive package that combines financial assistance, cross-cultural exchange, networking opportunities, and alumni engagement.
- Financial Benefit: Each fellow receives a one-time stipend of $20,000 for academic expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1# Nationality:

- Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents of Quad countries (Australia, India, Japan, or the United States) or any of the 10 Southeast Asian countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam).
2# Academic Background:

- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field by August 2025.
- Demonstrate superior academic performance.
3# Graduate Studies:

- Must apply to or currently be enrolled in an eligible STEM graduate program at a U.S.-based university for the 2025-2026 academic year.
4# Ineligible Programs:

- Clinical healthcare degrees (e.g., Medicine, Veterinary Science) and business degrees (e.g., MBAs) are excluded.
Application Process
The selection process comprises three stages:
- Online Application: https://www.quadfellowship.org/.
Includes three essays, background details, and three letters of recommendation (two from professors and one from an academic or professional contact). - Expert Review: Evaluates STEM proficiency.
- Final Interview: Assesses the candidate’s passion for STEM and social impact, along with traits such as integrity, curiosity, and compassion.
