What’s on Offer?
This incredible scholarship provides up to £60,000 in financial support throughout your undergraduate journey. This includes:
- £15,000 per year for three years of study
- An additional £15,000 if you choose to undertake a Professional Training Year (PTY)
This generous funding aims to alleviate financial burdens and empower care-experienced students to focus on their studies and career aspirations.
Who is Eligible?
To apply for the Sam and John Dawson Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a first-year undergraduate Home/UK student at the University of Surrey
- Be enrolled in a STEM undergraduate course
- Have a care-experienced background, which includes:
- Living with foster carers under local authority care
- Residing in residential care (e.g., a children’s home)
- Being looked after at home under a supervision order
- Living in kinship care with relatives or friends, with or without official local authority support
