About the Scholarship
The Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation offers funding to outstanding international students pursuing graduate or undergraduate programs in Japan. The scholarship encourages students addressing academic and research excellence while easing financial burdens.
This call is open to students who will be enrolled in a Japanese university as privately financed (self-funded) students and meet the eligibility and document requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, students must:
- Be privately financed (self-funded) international students
- Be currently enrolled or accepted into a university in Japan for October 2025 or April 2026 intake
- Secure a control number from the university’s International Student Affairs or Student Support Division
- Prepare required documents including resumes, academic transcripts, research plan (for graduates), and a recommendation letter.
Doctoral students are also required to submit an evaluation letter from their supervisor.
