International students and early-career researchers, take note! The prestigious Schmidt Science Fellows 2026 program is now accepting applications, offering a transformative postdoctoral experience with a $110,000 annual fellowship, world-class mentorship, and lifelong networking opportunities.

About the Schmidt Science Fellows Program

The Schmidt Science Fellows initiative is designed to cultivate the next generation of global scientific leaders. By providing financial support and cross-disciplinary research opportunities, the program empowers fellows to expand their scientific expertise beyond their primary disciplines.

In addition to the generous $110,000 postdoctoral fellowship, selected candidates will gain access to Science Leadership Training, expert mentorship, and lifelong membership in the Schmidt Fellows network.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for nomination to the Schmidt Science Fellows 2026 program, candidates must:

  • Be completing their Ph.D. in natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, or computing.
  • Expect to fulfill all degree requirements between May 15, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
  • Be nominated by an official at a nominating partner institution.

Applicants must submit the following documents in one single PDF file:

  • Motivation Letter (One page outlining academic achievements, motivations, and alignment with the Schmidt Science Fellows selection criteria)
  • Curriculum Vitae (Including publications, patents, and scientific awards)
  • Summary of Doctoral Dissertation
  • Support Letter from Doctoral Supervisor.
