Scholarship Opportunity 2025 at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-senftenberg

A golden opportunity has just opened up for aspiring international researchers. Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) has announced its latest call for applications for fully funded PhD scholarships, giving talented doctoral candidates from around the world a chance to pursue their research dreams in Germany.

What’s on Offer | Funding Package

The full PhD scholarship offers a generous monthly stipend of €1,500 to cover living expenses while pursuing a doctorate at BTU. For doctoral candidates with children, there is additional support available in the form of a family allowance of €150 per child per month, provided the necessary documentation is submitted (such as a certificate from the Kindergeldkasse).

Funding is available for up to 36 months, offering substantial support to carry out high-quality research across various scientific and academic disciplines.

Please note: This scholarship does not represent a legal entitlement, and the awarding of scholarships is subject to approval by the GRS Awarding Commission.

Who Can Apply | Eligibility Criteria

  • You must already be admitted to or applying for a PhD/doctorate program at BTU.
  • You must have a confirmed supervisor at BTU. Applications from those who have not yet secured a BTU supervisor will not be considered.
  • You should submit a letter of acceptance from your supervisor at BTU if you’re still in the process of being admitted.
  • Only individual doctoral/PhD students may apply. Applications submitted by supervisors on behalf of students will not be accepted.
  • Your supervisor must be able to provide academic resources for your research project at BTU.
  • Applicants must demonstrate:
    1. A completed university degree
    2. Strong research motivation and relevant skills
    3. An excellent academic record.

Important: If you applied for the full scholarship in a previous call and were not selected, you are not eligible to reapply under this round.
