Scotland Pakistan Scholarships 2026 Deadline Extended to September 15, 2026 — Bachelor’s and Master’s Funding for Women
Pakistani women who thought they had missed the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships 2026 now have another chance.
The British Council has officially extended the application deadline to September 15, 2026 for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls, a Scottish Government-funded programme supporting women studying Bachelor’s, Master’s and MPhil degrees at HEC-recognized universities inside Pakistan.
This is not a scholarship for studying in Scotland. The funding is used to complete an eligible degree at a university in Pakistan.

Which Degrees Are Covered?
Applicants must be studying an eligible four-year Bachelor’s degree or a maximum two-year Master’s/MPhil programme.
The scholarship currently covers:

- Sustainable Energy
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Health Sciences
- STEM
- Climate
Applicants must already hold a confirmed admission offer from an HEC-recognized Pakistani university.
What Does the Scholarship Pay?
Successful scholars can receive funding for tuition fees in an eligible subject.
Students living in university hostels may also receive support for hostel costs and travel between home and university twice each year.
Master’s/MPhil scholars can additionally receive research-related funding to access appropriate laboratories, equipment and research tools.
The programme particularly encourages applications from women with disabilities and applicants from rural areas or minority communities.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be female Pakistani nationals;
- Currently reside in Pakistan;
- be pursuing an eligible Bachelor’s, Master’s or MPhil programme;
- Study one of the approved subject areas; and
- Already possess a confirmed offer from an HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
The scholarship is therefore not an admission scheme. Students need to secure university admission first and apply for the scholarship afterwards.
How to Apply — Bachelor’s and Master’s Have Separate Forms
The process is simple:
- Secure admission to an eligible programme at an HEC-recognized Pakistani university.
- Confirm that your degree falls within one of the approved subject areas.
- Choose the correct British Council application route for either Bachelor’s or Master’s/MPhil applicants.
- Complete the online Scotland Pakistan scholarship application with the required personal, academic and university information.
- Submit all requested supporting documents before the closing date.
- Keep a copy of the submitted application and monitor your email for further selection communication.

Bachelor’s and Master’s/MPhil applicants: The new final deadline for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls 2026 is September 15, 2026.
Applicants who already hold university admission should use the extension to complete the scholarship application rather than treating September 15 as the day to begin gathering documents.
