Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to get admission on scholarship at Soochow university for the class of 2025:

1. Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health with a valid passport.
2. Master’s degree applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (preferably under 35 years of age).
3. Doctoral degree applicants must hold a master’s degree (preferably under 40 years of age).
4. Should not currently hold another government scholarship in China.

Applicants must demonstrate strong academic records and meet the required language proficiency:

• For Chinese-taught programs: HSK 5 with a score of 180 or above.
• For English-taught programs: TOEFL ≥80, IELTS ≥6.0, or equivalent evidence of English proficiency.

How to Apply for Soochow University in 2025?

Applications should be submitted through the Soochow University International Student Service System at https://suda.17gz.org. Candidates applying for the CSC scholarship must also submit their application through the China Scholarship Council system with following set of required documents:

• Passport copy.
• Notarized highest diploma and transcripts.
• Language proficiency certificates.
• Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
• Study plan (minimum 1,000 words) or signed proposal for doctoral applicants.
• Health certificate and non-criminal record.
• Financial guarantee documents.
