UST Scholarship Funding – What Does the UST Scholarship Cover?
Successful applicants receive full financial support through the UST international student scholarship, which includes:

- Monthly stipend: KRW 1,200,000/month for Master’s students, and KRW 1,600,000/month for Ph.D. students.
- Employment contract with your research institute (yes, you’re paid while you study!)
- National health insurance and accident insurance
- Research participation with cutting-edge labs and projects
- Additional support: RCA Degree Programme students may receive a bonus KRW 2,000,000 and visits to nuclear facilities.
Who Can Apply? Eligibility Explained
Let’s talk eligibility. The UST Fall 2025 admission is open to foreign nationals who have an academic background in science and technology fields. If you’re applying for a Master’s or Integrated program, you’ll need to hold a Bachelor’s degree or be on track to graduate by August 2025. For the Ph.D. program, a Master’s degree (or equivalent) is required.
Language proficiency is also important. You’ll need to submit valid scores such as TOEFL iBT (79+), IELTS (6.0+), or TOPIK (level 4+), unless you’re exempt. Exemptions apply to UST graduates, students from English-speaking countries, or those applying to the Specialized Master’s Program.
Speaking of special categories—there are a few tailored paths available:
- RCA Degree Programme: For students from IAEA-RCA participating countries.
- KOICA Scholarship Program: Exclusively for Uzbekistan nationals.
- Overseas Koreans: For applicants of Korean heritage who studied entirely abroad.
- Specialized Master’s Program: Requires a recommendation from LPEM and does not need a language test score.
