Great news for Vocational Education and Training (VET) graduates looking to take the next step in their education! Swinburne University of Technology is now accepting applications for its Access Scholarship for Pathways Students. This scholarship aims to provide financial support to students who have completed a VET qualification and are commencing a full-time undergraduate degree at Swinburne in 2026.
Funded by the Department of Education, this scholarship is specifically designed for students from low socio-economic backgrounds who may face barriers to accessing higher education.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate course at Swinburne in Semester 1, 2026.
- Have completed a VET qualification (Certificate I-IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or UniLink Diploma) immediately prior to starting their degree.
- Demonstrate financial hardship and/or personal hardship by providing evidence such as Centrelink statements, a Health Care Card, or an ATO Payment Summary.
- Submit a 500-word personal statement addressing their personal and/or financial disadvantage.
What are the Benefits?
Successful recipients will receive:
- A $500 one-off payment before the commencement of studies.
- $5,000 per year for up to three years, paid in two installments.
