About the Internship Programme
Based at the South Centre headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, or offered virtually, this dynamic internship provides a rare opportunity to work alongside global health experts, diplomats, and policymakers focused on equity-driven health advocacy. The internship aligns with the goals of the Global South, particularly promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and a rights-based approach to health.
What You’ll Gain?

Who Should Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be fluent in English (French or Spanish is a plus).
- Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a postgraduate program in international human rights law.
- Show a strong interest in SRHR, health equity, and Global South policy issues.
- Possess research, analytical, and writing expertise.
- Be organized, communicative, and collaborative.
- Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to the challenges faced by developing countries (G77 + China).
Preference is given to nationals of developing countries or individuals with proven understanding of Global South perspectives.
Internship Structure & Timeline
- Minimum Duration: 3 months
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Location: Geneva HQ or remote (virtual)
- Summer Internships: Minimum 10 weeks required.
Intern’s Responsibilities
- Organize side events at major forums like WHO & HRC.
- Support research, policy drafting, and advocacy strategy on SRHR and health rights.
- Assist in workshops and training for Global South diplomats.
- Develop educational and negotiation materials.
- Contribute to joint advocacy campaigns and policy dialogues.
