Switzerland SSSR Travelling Fellowship 2026 for Everyone Available

The Swiss Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (SSSR) has officially announced the Travelling Fellowship 2026, a rare and prestigious opportunity for young radiologists with a passion for musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology. Established in 2014, the SSSR is the largest sub-society of the Swiss Society of Radiology (SGR-SSR) and has launched this fellowship to strengthen future leadership in MSK radiology, enhance technical and clinical skills, and foster lifelong professional networks.

About the Fellowship

The Travelling Fellowship brings together three MSK-interested radiologists every two years to embark on a week-long tour across Switzerland. During the program, fellows will:

  • Visit at least 3 leading radiology centers across two language regions.
  • Engage in clinical conferences, lectures, research discussions, interventional procedures, and imaging sessions.
  • Deliver presentations of their own research or topics of interest at each site.
  • Network with top Swiss radiologists and gain exposure to cutting-edge imaging practices.

The fellowship typically concludes at the annual SSSR Meeting, where fellows share their experiences and join exclusive networking events.

SSSR Fellowship Structure

  • Duration: 1 week (September 2026)
  • Cycle: Organized every other year
  • Number of Fellows: 3 selected applicants
  • Expenses: Accommodation and travel covered by SSSR, plus a flat reimbursement of 1,000 CHF per fellow

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be employed at a radiology institution in Switzerland.
  • Demonstrate strong interest in MSK radiology (clinical, research, or operational).
  • Provide a motivation letter (1 page) outlining their specialty of interest.
  • Include a Curriculum Vitae and a recommendation letter from the Head of Department confirming release to join the fellowship.
  • Nominate a godfather (senior staff mentor) to support their application.

New for 2026: One of the three fellowship positions is dedicated to a radiologist with outstanding educational or clinical excellence. Applicants are encouraged to detail their teaching roles, workshop leadership, or clinical contributions in MSK imaging.

Application Dates for TF_2026

The application cycle for the SSSR Travelling Fellowship 2026 (TF_2026) begins with its official announcement in August–September 2025. Interested candidates must submit their applications by the deadline of November 30, 2025.

The selected fellows will be announced on January 15, 2026, after which the organization phase will continue until April 30, 2026. The one-week travelling fellowship itself is scheduled to take place in September 2026.
