The University of Tasmania is offering the Tasmanian International Scholarship (TIS) to eligible international students beginning their studies in 2024. This scholarship provides a substantial financial boost, making world-class education more accessible to students from across the globe. Scholarship Benefits
The Tasmanian International Scholarship offers a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the entire duration of the course. This discount applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees, making education at the University of Tasmania significantly more affordable for international students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Commencing Students: The scholarship is open to international students starting a new undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at the University of Tasmania.
- Academic Merit: Applicants are assessed based on their academic achievements at the secondary, diploma, or degree level. High-performing students with excellent grades are prioritized for the scholarship.
- Exclusions: Students applying for the following courses are not eligible for the Tasmanian International Scholarship:
- Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine
- Bachelor of Dementia Care
- AMC Seafaring courses
Note: Study Abroad and Exchange international students (6-12 month programs) are not eligible for the TIS Scholarship.
Application Process
Good News: No separate scholarship application is required! All international students applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (https://www.utas.edu.au/study/apply/international-students) will be automatically considered for the Tasmanian International Scholarship. Simply submit your International Student Application through the university’s online portal, and your academic merit will be evaluated as per this call letter https://www.utas.edu.au/study/scholarships-fees-and-costs/international-scholarships/tasmanian-international-scholarship.
Once you’ve completed your application, an Offer Letter will inform you whether you’ve been awarded the scholarship.
