TILT Writing-Enriched Curriculum Fellowship 2025 at Colorado State University

Are you a faculty member passionate about integrating writing to enhance student learning, engagement, and academic success? The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT) at Colorado State University (CSU) has officially opened applications for the 2025–2026 Writing-Enriched Curriculum (WEC) Faculty Fellowship — a powerful opportunity for educators to reimagine course design with writing at its core.

What is the WEC Faculty Fellowship?

The TILT WEC Fellowship supports CSU faculty in embedding meaningful, innovative writing assignments and strategies within existing course structures. Whether you’re aiming to deepen student understanding, promote knowledge retention, or drive success across learning outcomes, this fellowship provides the resources, mentorship, and funding to bring your ideas to life.

Fellows will engage in collaborative curriculum design or redesign focused on student writing. Each project must include a detailed plan of implementation, assessment of learning outcomes, and a clear connection to course objectives, CSU’s land-grant mission, or broader institutional priorities such as access, engagement, and student success.

What You’ll Receive?

  • $1500 stipend for the selected course instructor
  • 20 hours of one-on-one mentorship with a WEC Lead expert
  • Curriculum design support, focusing on one major writing assignment or a series of smaller writing activities
  • Presentation opportunity at the CSU Summer Conference (May 2026)
  • Eligibility to co-facilitate TILT’s January 2026 Course Redesign Institute

Funding is provided by a TILT grant and will be distributed upon completion of a final report due May 15, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be full-time CSU faculty (tenured, tenure-track, or continuing non-tenurable appointments) for the 2025–2026 academic year. While graduate students cannot apply as principal fellows, faculty are encouraged to collaborate with them on their projects.

Preference will be given to those who attended TILT’s June 2025 Community of Practice on Writing for Engaged Learning and first-time applicants to the WAC Fellows Program.
