UK Skilled Worker Visa Under Review – Submit Your Evidence on UK Work Visa Policy by April 24, 2025
Have something to say about the UK’s Skilled Worker Visa system? Now’s your chance! The UK Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has launched a high-stakes Call for Evidence, and they want to hear directly from workers, employers, experts, and the public.
What’s This All About?
The UK’s Skilled Worker Visa route was launched in 2020 after Brexit and has become the main pathway for people to work in the UK. In 2022, it expanded to include care workers, and in Spring 2024, new tougher rules were introduced to reduce net migration.
Last year alone, the UK received over 230,000 applications through this visa, bringing in a massive £438 million in visa fees.
But now, concerns are rising. A recent government report found that the impact of the 2024 changes wasn’t fully assessed, and it’s unclear how these stricter rules are affecting different sectors and regions of the UK.
That’s where YOU come in.
What Does the Inquiry Cover?
The Committee is looking for evidence on:
- How the Spring 2024 changes are affecting industries
- Whether the system is fair and working as intended
- How digital upgrades to the visa system are going
- How the Home Office is making sure rules are being followed
Who Can Submit Evidence?
- Skilled workers
- Employers and businesses
- Immigration advisors
- Healthcare and care sector reps
- Researchers and advocacy groups
- Anyone with insight into the Skilled Worker Visa system.
Important:
- Do not submit anything that’s already published online.
- The inquiry cannot help with individual visa cases—this is for policy evidence only.
