Work Location and Duration
This is a full-time, in-person internship based in New York, with an expected duration of 3 to 6 months.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Intern focused on Research and Programme Management, you will join the Staffing, Diversity, and Outreach Section within the Strategic Talent Management Service of the Office of Human Resources. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the coordination and preparation of various programs and projects.
- Providing support for planning and implementing activities involving multiple stakeholders.
- Conducting research and analysis on geographical diversity trends and labor markets in underrepresented Member States.
- Contributing to the development of strategies to increase geographical representation.
- Monitoring and evaluating programs and projects, tracking and analyzing data.
- Drafting correspondence and communications related to program activities.
- Organizing diversity-focused events and initiatives in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Assisting in creating internal communications and visual materials related to diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Drafting program summaries and minutes of meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this UN internship, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as public information, communications, or social science.

Language Requirements
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of an additional official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an advantage.
