UNICEF Education Cannot Wait Internship 2024

Based in New York, this internship focuses on supporting the ECW Secretariat Strategic Planning and Accountability team. Two internships are available, starting in January and June 2025.
About the Internship
ECW is the United Nations’ global fund dedicated to ensuring that children affected by emergencies and protracted crises receive quality education. As part of this mission, the selected intern will assist with the Acceleration Facility, ECW’s investment arm focused on improving educational outcomes in crisis settings. The role includes tracking projects, coordinating working groups, and contributing to strategic planning. The intern will play a key part in delivering ECW’s new Strategic Plan 2023-2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Working Groups: Assist with organizing meetings, developing agendas, and tracking progress.
- Track and Analyze Data: Maintain databases, manage documents, and produce reports.
- Draft Background Papers: Collaborate on reports about critical themes like climate change and localization.
- Support Learning Events: Help plan and coordinate ECW learning events and support communication strategies.
Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled in or graduated within the last two years from an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. program.
- Excellent academic performance.
- Proficiency in English (writing and speaking); knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.
- Background in areas such as education, grants management, or international development.
Stipend and Benefits
The internship offers a monthly stipend of USD $1,700 for interns based in New York. Flexible working hours are available, with the chance to gain valuable experience in a global organization.
