University of Kent Offers Automatic Tuition Discounts for 2027 Admission Intakes
Planning a UK master’s for January 2027? The University of Kent offers automatic tuition discounts of £5,000 or £3,000 to eligible applicants from 12 countries. Your course determines the amount, and accepting your admission offer on time unlocks consideration. Here is how to choose the right route.
Which scholarship applies to your course?
Kent Business School applicants receive the £3,000 route; eligible applicants elsewhere receive the £5,000 route. These are alternative awards, so choose your course for its academic fit before comparing the discount.
| Scholarship | Eligible course location | Tuition reduction |
|---|---|---|
| Kent International Scholarship Postgraduate Taught – January 2027 | Outside Kent Business School | £5,000 |
| Kent International Scholarship Postgraduate Taught (KBS) – January 2027 | Kent Business School | £3,000 |
Does your home country and study route qualify?
Both awards require domicile in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam. The rule concerns domicile, rather than simply your passport. Students normally domiciled in an eligible country who are temporarily studying in the UK can also qualify.
You must pay fees directly to Kent. Integrated pre-master’s routes, distance learning, PCert and PDip programmes are excluded.
Can you combine funding? Normally, no. A progression-agreement discount is an exception; a successful higher-value scholarship replaces this award.
What will you still need to pay and prove?
You must budget for the remaining tuition and living costs. Neither award includes a maintenance stipend. Calculate your total costs before accepting an offer.
IELTS is not the only accepted English evidence. Kent accepts alternatives including PTE Academic and Duolingo, plus qualifying English-language qualifications. The required level depends on your course, and any exemption must satisfy Kent’s rules. Check your evidence early: a tuition discount does not remove admission conditions.
How do you secure admission and the automatic award?
Apply for your course first, accept your admission offer, then accept the scholarship offer Kent sends you. Put your preparation into the admission application:
- Choose January entry. Use Kent’s January intake page to find a suitable course and check its academic, English and fee requirements.
- Submit your admission application. Follow the course’s application link into Kent’s online system. Typically prepare an academic transcript, at least one academic reference, identification and a personal statement. Follow the live form’s instructions. Our statement of purpose writing guide offers optional preparation advice; Kent’s own prompts and limits take priority.
- Check your award route. Read the official £5,000 scholarship rules or £3,000 Business School scholarship rules. Accept your admission offer by the scholarship deadline and respond to the subsequent award offer.
- Complete your next steps. Meet outstanding admission conditions and, where applicable, Kent’s deposit and CAS requirements. Bank-transfer deposits have a 23 November deadline; required pre-CAS interviews must finish by 14 December, and all CAS checks, including Store or Flywire deposits, by 15 December 2026.
Application Deadline: Apply for University of Kent January 2027 taught admission by 27 November 2026. The last date to accept your admission offer for either Kent International Scholarship is 11 December 2026 at 5pm GMT. Start early enough to receive an offer before that second deadline.
