University of Missouri Scholarships 2027 Batch for Bachelor Degree Enrollments Open
Could a University of Missouri scholarship make your US bachelor’s degree affordable? For Fall 2027, Mizzou lists international freshman awards worth $10,000 or $20,000 a year, with higher support available to some children of Mizzou graduates. Your first decision is whether you can finance the costs left after the award.
Whether you are considering engineering, business, agriculture, journalism or another undergraduate subject, start with your degree’s admission requirements. Then complete your scholarship file early: submitting an admission form alone does not finish the process.
Plan your Mizzou application
Which University of Missouri Scholarship fits your Profile?
The International Honors and International Merit awards are the main freshman options without a Mizzou-parent requirement. Selection uses a holistic application review; SAT or ACT scores are preferred but optional for these two awards.
| Scholarship | Annual award, 2027–2028 | Key selection condition |
|---|---|---|
| International Honors | US$20,000 | Application and English proficiency reviewed |
| International Merit | US$10,000 | Application and English proficiency reviewed |
| Global Black & Gold, Level 1 | US$21,500 | Mizzou graduate parent; SAT 1260 or ACT 27 |
| Global Black & Gold, Level 2 | US$11,000 | Mizzou graduate parent; SAT 1200 or ACT 25 |
These awards offset the nonresident portion of tuition and generally cannot be combined. Budget separately for remaining tuition, housing, meals, insurance and travel. After admission, Mizzou requires evidence that you can cover one full year of estimated expenses before issuing immigration documents.
Who can qualify for Mizzou scholarships—and keep the funding?
You must satisfy international undergraduate admission rules and the conditions of your particular scholarship. Mizzou’s published academic baseline includes:
- Thirteen core coursework units: four mathematics, three science, three social studies, two languages and one fine arts.
- Qualifying core grades, such as a 2.5 GPA on a US 4.0 scale or an 80 average on a 100-point scale; other systems are evaluated under the university’s rules.
- Required academic records and acceptable English proficiency evidence.
Meeting admission requirements does not guarantee a scholarship. These international awards support a first bachelor’s degree. The financial-aid rules also specify full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits in the first regular semester after high-school graduation. If you have taken a gap year, confirm eligibility before relying on an award.
To renew International Honors or International Merit funding, maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75; Global Black & Gold requires 2.50. Continuous fall and spring enrollment and satisfactory academic progress also matter. Summer study is excluded.
Can you apply to the University of Missouri without IELTS?
Yes—IELTS is one accepted route, and some applicants qualify through other tests, qualifications or education-country exemptions. Most programmes accept IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, or Duolingo 110 with each component at least 100. On the new TOEFL iBT scale, the general minimum is 4.5 overall with sections at least 4.0.
Your subject can raise the threshold. Journalism requires IELTS 7.0 with bands at least 6.0; Education and Human Development requires 7.0 with bands at least 6.5. Nursing requires 7.0 overall, speaking 8.0 and other bands at least 6.5.
Alternatives include IGCSE English–First Language at grade B or above, or IB English A: Language & Literature SL/HL at score 5 or above. Country exemptions have specific conditions; a generic English-medium letter is not an automatic waiver. IELTS Online is not accepted.
How do you complete your Mizzou admission and scholarship applications?
Apply for admission first, complete your supporting file, then use your Application Status Page for additional scholarships.
- Follow the official international application instructions, select Fall 2027 and your intended bachelor’s programme, and pay $65. Eligible freshmen with demonstrated financial need can request a waiver through an approved form submitted by their school counselor.
- Submit transcripts covering grades 9–12 or their equivalent, other academic records where applicable, and required translations. Unofficial PDFs may support initial review; an official final transcript is required after admission.
- Check the English requirements for your school or college and submit qualifying evidence. Send official SAT/ACT scores if they strengthen your scholarship profile.
- Review the international scholarship rules. Automatic consideration covers the listed freshman scholarship awards; general and departmental funding requires the separate Mizzou Scholarship Application Portal accessible through your Application Status Page.
- Monitor missing-document requests and decisions. After admission, submit your passport copy and financial-support evidence, then assess the award against your full budget.
Which University of Missouri scholarship deadline should you follow?
The last date to apply for the University of Missouri’s Fall 2027 international freshman scholarships and submit all required application materials is 1 December 2026. General and departmental scholarship applications are also due that day. The international scholarship page says fall award offers will be sent by late January.
As checked on 2 October 2026, Mizzou’s FAQ still lists March 1 for International Admissions scholarships, while its 2027–2028 scholarship page explicitly requires December 1. Follow the earlier, cycle-specific deadline. The FAQ’s July 1 fall admission deadline does not extend scholarship consideration.
