Opportunity Details

  • Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland
  • Start Date: August 1, 2025
  • Duration: 4 years (renewable annually)
  • Stipend: As per UniNE salary scales for doctoral students
  • Supervision: Prof. Bruno Lanz.

PhD Focus & Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in applied economics and work towards a PhD.
  • Utilize microeconomic theory, behavioral economics, and real-world data for policy insights.
  • Complete core PhD-level courses in economics.
  • Assist in teaching and mentoring students at the bachelor’s and master’s levels.
  • Engage in research activities and seminars at the Institute.

Who Can Apply?

  • Master’s degree in Economics (or close to completion).
  • Strong research skills in environmental economics, experimental economics, and behavioral economics.
  • Excellent English proficiency (French is an advantage).
  • Potential to produce high-quality research.
  • GRE scores (not mandatory but required by April 2025 if not already taken).
