University of Reading £34m Green Leader Scholarships for 2025

The University of Reading has unveiled a transformative new scholarship initiative designed to support and inspire the next generation of sustainability leaders. With a total investment of £34 million, the Global Sustainability Leaders Scholarship aims to provide financial and professional development support to up to 400 talented undergraduate students annually, with 300 scholarships available for the first year of the program.

Benefits of the Scholarship

Recipients of the Global Sustainability Leaders Scholarship will enjoy:

  • £6,000 annual maintenance funding (up to £24,000 over a four-year program).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Requirements:
    Applicants must achieve AAA at A-level or equivalent. For students from disadvantaged backgrounds, slightly adjusted academic criteria will be applied to promote inclusivity.
  • Background:
    • Open to 250 UK students and 150 international students annually.
    • Half of the UK scholarships for 2025 will be reserved for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Program Scope:
    The scholarship is open to students across all academic disciplines at the University of Reading’s UK campuses.

Degree Levels

This scholarship is available for undergraduate programs only, offering an inclusive opportunity for students pursuing diverse fields—from arts and history to computer science and zoology.
