University of St Andrews Global Fellowships 2025 Open
The University of St Andrews invites international scholars to apply for its prestigious Global Fellowship Scheme 2025, designed to foster global academic collaboration and innovation. This fellowship program is an exceptional opportunity for scholars to engage with a world-class academic community, contribute to research, and exchange knowledge across disciplines.
Benefits of the Global Fellowship Scheme
Selected Global Fellows will receive the following support during their visit to St Andrews:
- Stipend: £1,000 for a 28-day visit (pro-rata for shorter stays).
- Accommodation: Self-catered housing in a one-bedroom apartment or equivalent.
- Travel Expenses: Return airfare in economy class, arranged by the University.
- Transfers: Airport transfers to and from St Andrews.
- Facilities Access: Full access to University IT and library resources.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Hold a PhD degree or equivalent prior to submitting their application.
- Be based outside the UK and employed at a university, research institute, or similar organization.
- Be recognized as significant contributors to their field or emerging leaders in academia.
Fellowship Conditions
- Engagement: Fellows are expected to engage virtually with St Andrews students and faculty throughout the 2025-2026 academic year.
- On-Site Visit: A visit of up to four weeks is required between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2026.
- Activities: During their visit, Fellows will deliver research seminars, postgraduate lectures, or undergraduate training activities and actively participate in the academic life of the University.
The University may accommodate fully virtual fellowships or shorter visits for candidates with specific commitments, such as caregiving responsibilities.

Selection and Results
Applications will undergo evaluation by the respective Academic Schools and a multi-disciplinary selection committee. Successful applicants will be notified by 30 May 2025.
