University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2026 Spring Batch Opens for Applications

The University of Twente in the Netherlands has officially opened applications for its prestigious University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This scholarship is designed to support outstanding international students from non-EU/EEA countries who aspire to pursue a Master’s degree at one of Europe’s most innovative universities.

Beyond financial support, recipients will gain exclusive access to honours programmes in Research, Design, or Change Leadership, making this a unique opportunity to boost both academic and professional growth.

Funding Package

The UTS offers financial support ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year. For students enrolled in a two-year Master’s programme, the scholarship may be extended into the second year, provided the recipient maintains strong academic performance, including:

  • A minimum average grade of 7/10 at the end of the third quartile in the first year.
  • Completion of at least 50% of European Credits (ECs) by the same point.

Additionally, recipients of UTS may become eligible for the Kipaji Scholarship—an extra scholarship that further supports promising students who show exceptional ambition.

Short Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the University of Twente Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country and not be eligible for Dutch study loans.
  • Have (provisional) admission to a qualifying Master’s programme at the University of Twente for 2026/2027.

  • Be able to finance remaining study and living costs, as the scholarship is not fully funded.

The UTS is not available for Dutch students, EU/EEA students, ITC faculty programmes, pre-Master’s courses, or students who pay the statutory tuition fee in the Netherlands.
