Benefits of the Chancellor’s International Scholarship

The Chancellor’s International Scholarship offers a comprehensive financial package for outstanding international PhD applicants, including:

  • Full payment of tuition fees: Covering all tuition costs throughout the PhD program.
  • Maintenance stipend: A generous stipend paid at the prevailing UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) rate, currently for 3.5 years, to help with living costs.
  • Research, Training, and Supporting Grant (RTSG): A £5,000 grant to assist with research-related costs.
  • Immigration support: For eligible scholars, the opportunity to apply for financial support towards UK immigration costs.

In total, up to 42 Chancellor’s International Scholarships are expected to be awarded for the 2025/26 academic year, with a total allocation of £5 million.

  1. Apply for a PhD at the University of Warwick starting in October 2025.
  2. Be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for tuition fee purposes, irrespective of nationality.
  3. Apply to any discipline offered at Warwick, as there are no specific subject restrictions.

Application Process and Important Deadlines

The application process for the Chancellor’s International Scholarship consists of several key steps and deadlines. To increase your chances of success, ensure that you prepare well in advance. Here’s the timeline to keep in mind:

  • Course Application Deadline: 9 December 2024 (GMT)
  • Scholarship Application Deadline: 12 December 2024 (GMT)
  • Supporting Documents Deadline: 7 January 2025 (GMT)

The steps to apply include:

  1. Submit a PhD course application via the https://warwick.ac.uk/services/dc/schols_fund/scholarships_and_funding/cis.
  2. Upload all supporting documents (e.g., transcripts, references, and personal statement).
  3. Receive a 7-digit applicant ID via email (this may take up to 48 hours).
  4. Register your ITS applicant account to complete the scholarship application.

Please note that late applications or supporting documents cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

Results Announcement

The results of the Chancellor’s International Scholarship will be communicated via email by March 2025.
