Scholarship Overview
Applications for the 2026 Interpreter Scholarship Program are now open, offering scholarships of up to $8,000. The program aims to cultivate skilled interpreters across a range of languages, creating more inclusive communication in Victoria’s vibrant multicultural society. Scholarships are available for 3 levels of study: Introduction to Interpreting Skill Set, Diploma of Interpreting, and Advanced Diploma of Interpreting.
Available Courses and Languages
- Advanced Diploma: Greek, Arabic, Spanish, Persian, Vietnamese, and Italian.
- Diploma: Portuguese, Burmese, Dinka, Dari, Punjabi, Somali, Samoan, S’gaw Karen, Russian, and Urdu
- Introduction to Interpreting Skill Set: A wide range of languages, including but not limited to Swahili,, Bangla, Albanian, Chichewa, Hazaragi, Gujarati, Kayah (Karenni), Pashto, Ukrainian, and Lingala.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected students will receive financial support of up to $8,000 to cover tuition fees for their chosen program. This financial assistance enables participants to focus on enhancing their interpreting capabilities while preparing for meaningful roles in health, education, legal, and community settings.
The interpreting programs cater to the diverse needs of students. The Interpreting Skill Set is offered fully online, providing flexibility for participants across Victoria. The Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are primarily delivered online, with occasional in-person sessions at RMIT’s Melbourne campus. This hybrid model ensures accessibility while maintaining high-quality, interactive learning experiences.
