SJTU Tuition and Accommodation Costs for Self-Funded Students

If you do not receive a scholarship for your studies at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), you may still enroll as a self-funded student, but certain tuition and living expenses will apply depending on your chosen program and accommodation type. For Chinese-taught undergraduate programs, the annual tuition fee is RMB 22,000 for science and engineering majors, RMB 20,000 for business and humanities, and RMB 40,000 for arts programs. For English-taught undergraduate programs, which are typically offered in engineering and technology fields, the tuition is significantly higher at RMB 180,000 per year.

In addition to tuition, students must also cover accommodation costs, which range from RMB 8,000 to RMB 19,000 per year, depending on the campus and room assignment. The university allocates accommodation based on availability and students are required to book their housing online prior to arrival. It’s important to consider these costs while planning your application in case scholarship support is not secured.
