You and Europe Scholarship 2025 is Open for Applications
In an initiative to foster European understanding and promote cultural diversity, the You and Europe Scholarship 2025 is now open for applications. This prestigious scholarship program, a collaboration between the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung FVS, offers an unparalleled opportunity for international students across Europe to pursue master’s studies in Germany while contributing to the dialogue on European cohesion.
What Is the You and Europe Scholarship?
The scholarship is designed to support European students (including non-EU countries) with outstanding academic records and a passion for European issues. It aims to create a network of socially committed individuals working towards strengthening tolerance, respect, and cultural diversity across Europe.
Scholarship Benefits
- Financial Support: Monthly need-based funding between €300 and €1,112 for the standard duration of the master’s program (usually two years). Additional benefits, such as health insurance and family allowances, are also available.
- Networking Opportunities: Participation in two annual meetings focusing on European issues, with all costs for accommodation, meals, and program fees covered. Travel expenses are subsidized.
- Specialized Programs: Access to events such as the Europe Academy, EU simulation games, and Europe-themed series.
- Digital Resources: Use of a digital platform for networking and collaboration.
- Peer Support: A mentor from the Studienstiftung network to assist in adjusting to academic life in Germany
Who Can Apply?
Eligible countries include Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Italy, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Spain, and Turkey.
Eligibility Highlights:
- Open to students planning to enroll in a master’s degree program in Germany (proof of admission required by the funding period’s start).
- Open to all academic disciplines, except visual and performing arts, design, film, and music.
- Applicants must demonstrate above-average academic performance (top 10-15% of their class).
- English fluency is required; German proficiency is not mandatory.
- Applicants with a strong interest in European issues are encouraged to apply.
Students who have previously studied in Germany or earned a bachelor’s degree there are not eligible, though exceptions apply for those already enrolled in a master’s program.
