IBRO Undergraduate Research Fully Funded Internship 2025
The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) has announced the opening of applications for its fully funded IBRO Fund for Undergraduate Research Internship Programs 2025, a groundbreaking opportunity aimed at increasing diversity in the field of neuroscience.
A Mission to Promote Diversity and Equity in Neuroscience
This initiative provides financial support to research internship programs that serve students from community colleges and primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs). By offering hands-on lab experience, personalized mentorship, and skill-building workshops, the IBRO-funded program creates pathways for students from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue graduate studies and promising careers in neuroscience.
Programs selected for funding will receive grants of up to $25,000 USD to support their efforts in fostering an inclusive and impactful learning environment.
Key Components of the IBRO-Funded Program
- Mentored Research
- Students will participate in a hypothesis-driven research project under the guidance of faculty and mentors, gaining practical lab skills and critical thinking expertise.
- Interns will present their research findings at the program’s conclusion through oral or poster presentations, fostering confidence and scientific communication skills.
- Professional Development Workshops
- The program will offer workshops on topics like scientific ethics, networking strategies, graduate school applications, and career paths in STEM fields.
- Additional support will be provided for navigating personal and professional identities in research settings, empowering minority students to thrive in academia and beyond.
- Community Engagement (Optional)
- Interns may participate in public science events, outreach to high schools, or community discussions on the importance of diversity in neuroscience, broadening their impact and inspiration for others.
