CELI Fellowship 2025 for Emerging Clean Energy Leaders
Applications for the 2025 CELI Fellowship are now open, offering a transformative opportunity for professionals passionate about advancing clean energy and energy justice. Based in the United States, the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing early- to mid-career professionals for leadership roles in building an equitable, decarbonized, and resilient energy future. The Fellowship, running from July 30 to December 4, 2025, is a flagship program that fosters innovation, critical thinking, and collaboration across the clean energy sector.
CELI US Fellowship Benefits
The CELI Fellowship provides:
- Leadership Development: Equip Fellows with skills to navigate complex energy policies, market dynamics, and leadership moments.

- Expert Insights: Engage with clean energy thought leaders to identify barriers and drive innovative solutions for an equitable energy transition.
- Flexibility: Choose between virtual or in-person cohorts.
Each of the fellowship will be paid to participants in following 2 tiers:
- Tier 1: $5,500 (employer-supported Fellows).
- Tier 2: $3,500 (self-funded Fellows).
- Financial assistance is available, with applications due by March 19, 2025. Payment plans are offered for all Fellows.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- 3+ years of professional experience in clean energy.
- 5+ years of experience in a related field with a demonstrated intention to transition to the clean energy sector.
Additional notes:
- Graduate or post-doc training in clean energy counts toward the 3-year requirement.
- CELI encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including People of Color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those from communities affected by environmental injustice.
- Applicants must live and work in the United States.
Degree Levels and Professional Fields Requirements
The Fellowship is open to individuals from diverse professional and academic backgrounds, including but not limited to:
- Policy, advocacy, and government.
- Engineering, solar installation, and other technical expertise.
- Business and financial analysis.
- Environmental justice and grassroots organizing.
- Green technology entrepreneurship.
