PhD Scholarship 2025 at Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nuremberg for Renewable Energies

The Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nuremberg for Renewable Energies (HI ERN) invites applications for a PhD Scholarship in New Synthesis Processes and Production of Polymers and Membranes for PEM Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers (f/m/d). Degree Levels

  • Full PhD (limited to three years).

Eligibility

  • Required Degree: Master’s degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.
  • Specialization: Synthetic and analytical polymer chemistry, membrane technology, and knowledge of alkaline solid electrolyte polymers are highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong motivation to complete the PhD within three years.
    • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
    • Initiative, discipline, and excellent teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesis and analysis of proton-conducting solid electrolyte polymers.
  • Production and characterization of membranes for fuel cells and electrolyzers.
  • Dissemination of research outcomes through publications and conferences.
