The National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Summer Internship Program. This prestigious internship, part of the NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP) in Biomedical Research, provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in cutting-edge cancer research.
Open to undergraduates, graduate students, and medical/dental students, this program allows interns to work directly under top researchers and gain invaluable experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, and genetics.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the NIH SIP and DCEG Summer Internship Program, applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Be 18 years of age or older by June 1, 2025.
- Be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited high school, community college, college, university, or graduate/professional school.
- Have been accepted into a graduate program for Fall 2025, if currently in their final year of undergraduate studies.
Applicants with family members working at NIH should review the strict nepotism policy, which may affect eligibility for certain positions.
