Eligibility Requirements

  • Hold a Master’s degree in literary studies with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 1.50, in exceptional cases, according to the German grading system).
  • Demonstrate language proficiency: one language (German or English) at C1 level and the other at B1 level.
  • Additional foreign language skills as per the PhD study regulations.
  • Must not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of nomination.
  • Must have graduated within the last six years (exceptions apply).
  • Applicants holding a PhD are not eligible.
